- You choose. Open WebUI connects to local open-weight models (Ollama, vLLM, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint), private in-region endpoints, and approved hosted providers, in any combination. To avoid specific vendors or jurisdictions, configure only local or in-region models and do not add external model providers, with no lock-in as the open-weight landscape changes.
